People with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities have a right to be included in society under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Yet, they remain one of the most hidden and excluded populations. This has become especially obvious during the COVID-19 crisis.

This webinar was a virtual book launch of a book about what belonging means for this group of people. The book showcases important developments in belonging - in education, in research and in communities. Contributing authors in this edited book will share the key messages from their chapters, as well as what they learned from being involved in the exciting journey of developing this much needed book.

The below video includes a discussion about how belonging can be enhanced for people with profound disabilities and about what it means to belong.

Presented by the UNSW Disability Innovation Institute and the Centre for Research in Inclusion, University of Southampton
