About the project
UNSW Sydney is proud to be a part of the global collaboration, the Disability Matters project funded by the Wellcome Trust.
Officially launched in September 2023, the six-year project aims to develop anti-ableist and anti-disablist approaches to disability research. The key aim is to make disability the driving subject of research.
The project is made up of five participating Universities:
- University of Sheffield
- Dr B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi
- University of Toronto
- Nanyang Technological University Singapore
- UNSW Sydney
Research is shared across the countries through a series of online symposia hosted by each Institution. Past events are available to view online here.
