The UNSW GeneEQUAL team is an inclusive research team of self-advocates, researchers and health care professionals.
Together they have followed the six steps of the UNSW Disability Innovation Institute's guidelines Doing Research Inclusively: Co-Production in Action to make an educational toolkit for health care professions on NSW Health's Centre for Genetics Education website. This was co-produced to enable a more inclusive, person centred and respectful model of genetic health care with people with intellectual disability.
In our webinar, you will hear from GeneEQUAL's researchers and co-researchers about their experiences with the co-production process, and how this has led to an impactful resource and empowerment for people with intellectual disability.
